The internal workings of the GSG-5 and the GSG-522 are the same. The changes were cosmetic. Any GSG-5 parts should interchange with the GSG-522. Like others said, there is a full GSG-5 conversion kit that you can buy to take the GSG-522 to the way it was intended to look. I love my pair of GSG-5's.
