The mines well placed can net hundreds of damage many times in almost every fight while being on a far more mobile weapon. As for rapid being so LBG can compete DPS wise I would disagree with that too. Very bad in my opinion. I used to have it as my main pierce LBG, but the ammo capacity really held it back for me. With the new update, I can now fit in Ammo Up 2 into my Vigil Kugel build, and at that point, I saw no reason to go back to the Chaotic Gore Magala LBG.MH Rise - Sunbreak - LBG Builds. Guess that depends on what you're using, although the Zinogre LBG, Despot's Wildfire, is probably the more common Normal one to use since it also has Rapid Fire Slicing in addition to Rapid Normal 2. Basically, Rise's gimmick (Wirebug) covers HBG's weaknesses better than LBG.
