This time sadly, usc gave admits to those with > 9.4 gpa. For tier 1 & 2 > 8.5 were considered. Now the rest who didn't hear from them are waitlisted. The ones having > 9.2 have a greater chance of getting off the waitlist. If you have < 9.2 gpa, better to expect a spring admit/ reject.
